Curriculum title

Dear Colleagues,
As you are aware the New Zealand Curriculum will be launched in the second half of the year. Details are being finalized at present and there has been a proposal that we change our learning area title from “Learning Languages” to “Languages” in the final version.

“Language and Languages”, the current learning area would then become “English” and “Languages”, two new learning areas.

It has been mentioned that we do not refer to “Learning Science”, etc.

last year there was some opposition to “Learning Languages” but equally there may be a case for retaining this name. Your comments will be appreciated.
